@od_form: etting up and trying my Japanese plane with a rounded sole. to get the perfect fit of the blade, use a pencil to mark the steel. when you insert the steel into the plane, the tight spots will show some graphite, indicating where to remove material from the woodblock. i needed to repeatedly mark, check, and remove material until the tip of the blade was sticking out just enough. before you start fitting the blade, make sure you’ve sharpened it . . #japanesehandplane #japanesewoodworking #woodwork #木工 #DIY
