@truthcharting: By feeding the AI a detailed scan of the Shroud of Turin, alongside references to historical depictions of Jesus, image generative AI (I used an AI called Midjourney) can use its image processing power to create a semi-realistic portrait. Then, using image to video generative AI, we can make that image come to life in a realistic way. Every human life, from conception to natural death, is imbued with the dignity of being made in the image and likeness of God (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1700). Granted, this doesn’t mean physical resemblance, but rather a reflection of God’s spiritual nature. We share in God’s capacity for love, reason, and free will. This allows us to know and love God, to create and build, and to choose good over evil. Though sin has tarnished this image, the spark of divinity remains within us. Through grace and the pursuit of holiness, we can strive to become more Christ-like, reflecting God’s love and light in the world.
