the drier the better... the papery outer layer will be wet now and it'll take longer to cure. not a huge deal, but if the rain takes a break, 3-5 days after rain is ideal!

ive found dependsnon soil. i cant pull my roots without some watering to soften soil due to compaction.
wet ground will just mean longer cure time and watch for surface mold after harvest

July is the month! I usually just pull up a tester bulb and see how it looks once the leaves are getting dry
