it's the amount of time the artists get. Avatar 2 looks incredible because they spent an entire year just doing the vfx when most productions give artists only a few months

I mean, even look at Lord of The Rings with the Rohirim charge. Amazing, to this day. And Lucasfilm technically CREATED Industrial Lights and Magic... The largest VFX studio, to my knowledge...It's(1)

I have a friend in VFX. He’s over worked, underpaid, and studios are constantly cutting his teams down to skeleton crews.

People nowadays don't do their job for the love of it, just for the money. The passion is gone, everyone's getting lazy especially now that there's AI. Look at Secret Invasions intro for example.

The reason: Before CGI was actually bad so they used it sparingly and assisted it with a lot of practical effects. Now, it's good but they rely solely on it without helping it

Well mostly because Marvel executives can’t decide on a definitive story board and so they would let many things blank until the last days. Hope that helps
