Being from Lubbock right in between both of those we get crazy stupid weather cool breeze a few minutes then extremely dry heat with no wind at all the next and then it randomly gets cloudy like it’s gonna rain but will sprinkle for 40 seconds and stop, then boom! All the clouds are gone in 5 minutes

The west coast has a Pacific Ocean current that also influences cold water from the Gulf of Alaska to come down here. Pretty cold beaches usually year round. Also cold ocean air is less dense
