you did fantastic 👏 I would say under lay is more of a bean stitch then a zig zag & I forget what software you are using but John Deer probably has a program that can help you 😉

yes change the stitch angle and increase the stabilizer. you can also increase the underlay stitch spacing to decrease density

I layer of medium weight stabilizer works best, the design is definitely to dense and the angles are all the same direction.
