Food should be separate from other items. That's how you're trained at stores. Idk if they still do that but when I worked at Walmart it was like that.

I can tell you why. Some times different ppl pull orders. (Picks) and they separate things by departments. Or, you can have several associates pull by area. One does grocery produce. One does frozen

Lol I always do grocery order pick up I instantly regret it when I get one item per bag and then when you check out at the store they literally put everything in my bag I don’t get it
