@glucoseglowup: You see, our doctors often use the normal scale to assess our health, and until you tip into the abnormal range, they say nothing. So, when my doctor assured me I was good to go until next year, I breathed a sigh of relief.
However, that relief quickly turned to panic when I got home and realized my fasting glucose levels were just one point away from pre-diabetic. One point! How could that be possible? I’ve always prided myself on living a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, and doing all the right things.
This was the beginning of a spiral for me. Thoughts raced through my mind: How did I get here? What did I do wrong? How can I lower this?
Low carb? Exercise more? Eat less? The list went on and on. Basically piling on more stress.
It would not be for another eight months until I got thorough labs and learned more.
I’m begging you, if you are close to the “abnormal” range start asking questions, be your own advocate and take control of your health! Your traditional doctor is not going to speak up for you.

The A1C is the true indicator of diabetes. Your glucose is within normal limits though.

It’s definitely something watch. Doctors watch and wait, take out the wait part. Wait equals damage. If a fasting is already close to pre D it’s worth looking at random bg during the day and after
