This is kind of a trolley problem. And the trolley problem is problematic as an exercise because it fails to place blame on whomever built the flawed system and then blames the person at the lever

Nah vote for who represents you even if you know they won't win. It sends a message the two party system that they don't own your vote. It's better than staying home and it's better then 'less worse'

This changed my mind about voting. This is my first year voting and I had doubts about it but now I know that trying is better than doing nothing and complaining

counter argument is there a point between voting between the 2 when 1 might plunge us into bad times while the other won't stop it, the end point will ultimately be the same, one hand u know the end

What about voting for independent parties such as green, does that class as a wasted vote, my constituency is usual labour

I love the message and I do plan to vote but I'm still experiencing a high level of cognitive/moral dissonance and it's exhausting

I know this is about UK politics but in the U.S. there’s no point of voting. Both parties will cut taxes for the upper class and drive up economic inequality.

The parties pay close attention to the data. If people don’t vote they may write off that groups views. Votes for third parties while they won’t elect that person gather attention to the main party.

need to vote, but I'm definitely not voting for bad over worse. I'll vote for a party that I believe in (to an extent) even if they have no hope of winning

If we keep voting for a party that doesn't represent our ideals because it's not as bad as the other party, they have no incentive to change. If a party wants my vote put forward a candidate I support

um, if your choices were between Jabba and Palpatine, anyone saying "well Palpatine did destroy Alderaan but Jabba supports the slave trade" is not the good guy in that universe.

When someone complains about the choices “they” gave us: “Who did you campaign and vote for during the primary?” Getting involved every 4 years at the end of an election cycle doesn’t change things

I mean voting for presidents is almost pointless cause the electoral college can vote for whomever they want regardless of the popular vote

Remember you can vote for those smaller parties that represent your views more - because votes for them also matter. It’s not just between Labour and Conservatives.

Popular vote doesn’t matter, representatives can vote against the popular and vote in who they want so really you need to vote for representatives

my issue is, even if "bad" wins, what's stopping "worse" from just taking over anyway. it's almost happened before, and now that "presidential acts" can't be persecuted, does it matter who I vote for?

Vote for a party you Belgium even if they are bottom of the pile. Change takes time, as younger generations grow older their government will only align with their views if you get out and vote!
