I use extended life Mobil One oil it’s supposedly good for 20,000 miles. I change it at 3K.👍

This is why synthetics should not be used if the engine is not able to reach the temps needed. This happens to the engines for those that drive 5-10 miles a day.

Traded in ‘03 civic with 454K miles. Oil changed every 12k current accord 318K oil every 10K. No issues. 3k-5k is a waste. Such old thinking.

I currently have over 349,000 miles on my car and have had no problem and recently had my first tuneup. I.e. changing my spark plugs. I’ve had no engine problems whatsoever.🤷🏾♂️

With the heat generated from turbos, direct injection diluting the oil quicker, and very tight tolerances in modern engines I’d say it’s more crucial than ever to change it frequently.

My Ram 3500 takes into account idling and towing usage for the oil life indicator. I would have assumed Ford did this as well….it seemed like my Mustang did anyway

Pushing 200k with 10k oil changes. Manufacturers recommend is acceptable if followed. More likely that truck wasn't serviced properly.
