@hi5.team: 💖 Hi-5 Series 13 Songs of the Week (2011) 💖 🎬 Stevie, Casey, Lauren, Tim and Fely filmed Series 13 in the middle of 2011, after touring "Turn the Music Up!" across Australia. These Songs of the Week were filmed from 1st – 5th August 2011. This was the third and final series produced by Southern Star, and the last to feature Casey, Fely and Tim. Nine and Southern Star did not produce 2 out of the 5 series they ordered in 2009. 📺 Series 13 premiered in Australia on 17 October 2011 on Nine... very late in the year for a new series. The "Sing it Loud" album was released on 11 November 2011. It featured no songlets and was the last physical CD of Hi-5 to ever be released. 💰 At a time of financial instability for Nine and Hi-5, this series was the first time all nine songs were recycled from previous series. It's possible that this was a cost-cutting decision to cut back on writers for the series. It's also possible that this was a last-ditch effort to reignite some popularity for the show itself. Stevie said, "It’s fantastic to be able to bring [the songs] to a whole new generation of children." 🎵 Ironically, this became the most popular series of Hi-5 when it aired on Disney Junior Asia from 2012 to 2017. Therefore, the "classic songs" became new hits again, and formed the strong basis of Hi-5's touring repertoire for years to come. At the time of release the brand directors said, "We know these will continue as hits with our new generation of fans"... and they were right! Leah Howard's amazing choreography became the default for these songs for years. ✈️ Fely announced her departure from Hi-5 after the series finished airing in December 2011. Dayen then joined in 2012 for the "Holiday!" tour, before Hi-5 was officially sold by Nine in June 2012.
