@meowtherizzer: It’s the absence of those things that you’re feeling, and it hurts. Why wouldn’t it? But while that pain will always be with you, it becomes softer and less frequent with the passage of time. Be patient. Give yourself permission to grieve at your own pace, and don’t let anyone tell you what that pace “should” be. It’s different for everyone. And when you’re ready, I hope you’ll consider that somewhere, there’s a lonely cat in a shelter desperately needing all the wonderful things you and your cat shared together.
