BAH is so important. We moved on average every 18 months. It's expensive as hell, even with the housing allowance.

The disability/retirement thing is nuts because there’s an offset - every dollar of disability reduces retirement (but the disability isn’t taxed).

My mom was going to try to get my dad's disability up to 100%, but the VA rep warned her that it's more likely that his percentage would be lowered, not raised.

My Dad just passed away this year in March. He fought so hard to get his AF & ARMY benefits promised from serving in NAM & the Cold War. My heart goes out to ALL who served & are serving!
