In 1951, Walt Disney filmed Buddy dancing in front of a grid. This footage was used as a reference to create a mechanical figure known as the Dancing Man. The figure would serve as the basis for Disney’s Audio Animatronics, which are still being used at their theme parks to this day.
 Buddy started in television as Davy Crockett’s sidekick, George Russell, in Walt Disney’s Davy Crockett miniseries (1953–54). His most famous roles was as Jed Clampett in the CBS television sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies (1962–1971). Buddy went on to star in the television detective drama Barnaby Jones (1973–1980).
