@mikaelachavezt: Yesterday, I received a message from an old friend: “I am so unbelievably proud of you and every post I read of yours just fills my heart- I want to show this article to teenage you and hug her and say “you not only made it through, you’re CRUSHING it.” 🩵 When I was younger, I was struggling with depression, anxiety, SH, etc. One day, this friend of mine dropped off a letter at my front door and it was a list of reasons of why I should stay al!ve Fast forward 12 years later, I’m still trying to figure out what my purpose is but that’s okay. Throughout those years, I have been a mentor to at-risk teens, participated in volunteer opportunities and research, and advocated for disabled individuals, etc. But I am still learning. Little by little, I hope that I can make a change, so that the future generations of kids who are growing up with chronic illnesses and disabilities won’t go through the same struggles that I did.
