@belightcare: A similar medication on the market currently is Lequembi which is an infusion every two weeks. In June 2021, the FDA granted accelerated approval to Aducanumab based on its ability to reduce amyloid plaques. However, the approval was controversial due to the mixed clinical trial results and the high cost of the drug. As a result of ongoing debates and reassessments of its clinical benefits, Aducanumab is no longer provided and has been pulled from the market. In addition to the concerns noted in the video and above, there is ongoing controversy about the cause of Alzheimer's disease. For many years, researchers pointed to amyloid plaques as the cause of Alzheimer's. However, a 2006 study, now under scrutiny for potentially falsified results, has sparked new discussions. Some now believe that amyloid plaques might actually be a response to another underlying cause of Alzheimer's, rather than the direct cause itself. There’s a lot to untangle, but we need to keep in mind that the world is looking at Alzheimers. That’s good news. Focus on the brain health strategies we talked about last month and if you need it, know that other treatments are becoming available. Is there a DNA test to tell if you will be prone to get Alz?

How do you know if someone is in “early stages” or “middle stages”? This has been offered to my Mom (main symptoms are short term memory loss, word retrieval and decline in executive function).

Have we ever tried peptides? I mean, they are proteins that go in and tell the body to do particular things. So why not use a peptide to go in and make this function properly? It seems less evasive from where I’m sitting.

My mom did everything to prevent/prolong cognitive decline. She’s in end stage Alz. now. Her body is perfectly healthy. It’s a horrible disease. It’s scary to possibly be staring at my future.

Hopefully in 30-40 years when I'm getting to be around that age, I'll have access to this drug or something even better

Cost prohibitive until Medicare and Medicaid kicks in. The science isn’t as conclusive as I’d prefer. Just had a CT scan due to a fall which was revelatory. This could be an option but no to bleeds
