The biggest piece that some miss is that it took 2.5 years, and she is now using it on HER terms, in HER way. That there were times it felt like it wasn’t going to work (especially mid-meltdown).

It’s so amazing that you started her early! I’ve worked with 7-10 year olds who don’t have the skills she does, likely because parents and providers often promote verbal communication over aac.
