Now I’m not a sparky, but even I know the voltage designed to go through the big cable. Will cause heat/melt the small one, over time. That’s way we use fuses

Electrical connections are also mechanical connections. Improper mechanical electrical connections cause excessive heat and possibly fire. Very bad idea.
