One piece fan letter showing that Nami is inspiring young girls and women of the one piece universe to want to accomplish their own dreams, go on their own adventures, and know they don’t need a devil fruit or brute strength to do so is so meaningful. For a character so often hated by a *cough* certian… side of the fandom, it really made me smile to know that opinion doesn’t matter within one piece itself. The fact that Nami has inspired this new generation of girls is something I feel could always be inferred but seeing it straight up made me so so happy. Also, don’t try to tell me this wasn’t about women’s empowerment because it SO WAS. Take this story and replace it with a boy like in the novel this story was based off of.. it will NOT hit the same. I’m so glad such a thing as this was a legitimate plot point in one of the best one piece episodes to date. I love Nami and women!!!!!
