that is the most unique method I've ever seen for those, a kitchen hone would seem far too rough for good results esp without oil, i have to try this

I've been wondering how to properly sharpen my card scraper. Thanks, mate. I always learn a thing or two by watching your videos🙌

I am in my workshop with the results. following this sharpening method faithfully step by step, the resulting burr is coarse and ragged, but traditional sharpening smooth, test piece French Oak

right here we go. topping it with a file, yes, put scraper flat, create a burr facing the edge with hardened smooth steel, put it back in the vice, then fold that burr over 90° to the flat.make sense?

I've never sharpened a cabinet scraper like that after 40 years as a cabinet maker, the old school sharpening method gives a beautiful finish.
