We owned a small business and had to charge a fee for credit cards because the banks charge businesses a big percentage for servicing the card.

I don’t use debit card at restaurants or stores, if the card is hacked it takes the money out of my checking, with the credit card I don’t have to worry about that.

It used to be the fee a business was charged for using credit cards was considered part of the cost of doing business. It was figured into the cost of the product or service they are providing.

My daughter is a hair stylist. She has to pay 25 cents + a % of the sale for every credit or debit card charge to the salon because they get charged.
