From what I remember, the powdered alcohol that tried to come to market had the same issues as yours. Difficult to add an appropriate strength, and being tasting/feeling the powder.

I’d get where they were coming from if like a koolaid size pack of powder packed the punch of a 6 pack but as you proved it’s clearly not the case and by volume alcohol on its own is way more potent.
