@hawaiiislandhumane: JUST A PUPPY… BEING A PUPPY! 5 month old Apricot was a teeny tiny little lady when she was found straying on a farm and brought to Hawai’i County Animal Control back in April. She showed signs that she had never experienced a lot of handling or affection … and would flee when people would try to touch her. ❤️‍🩹 Life got even harder when baby Apricot tested positive for ringworm! 😫🧫 After coming into our care, it took several weeks to treat the fungal infection. Now, she has been successfully treated and cleared to do what she does best… BE A PUPPY! 🙌 She got a little shelter break with the best trio of friends: adopted pups Tina and Salty, and their mom, volunteer and foster, Laurie! Together, they helped Apricot spend a few days learning ‘’how to dog’’ and enjoying the bliss of being a happy puppy! She got to romp and run and play with her friends. She discovered food puzzles (the coolest thing ever!) She played with toys. She went ‘’fishing’’?! She did lots and lots and lots of bounding around gleefully. She found comfort in her crate (she is crate trained!) She had an enriching, relaxing, fun time and it filled all of our hearts to get to see her being a puppy! Apricot is now back at the shelter and patiently waiting to be noticed so that the fun can continue. She would be sooooo happy as a kid sister to another friendly, social, playful dog (she definitely formed a little crush on her foster brother, Salty.) She most certainly wants to be someone’s baby.
