My thoughts are always if you miss your exit DONT DO THIS. Just get off at the next one. GPS is amazing and willl get you to your destination regardless

It's going to depend on the state. Some states will allow the drivers of the 2 damaged vehicles to go after the uHaul that creates the situation.

POV car was avoiding a much worse accident by slowing down and side swiping the truck to the left. The insurance companies of both the truck and car will go after the U-Haul for sure.

Generally, if an accident is avoidable without a lane change and you do so anyway, it’s entirely up to you to make sure that lane is clear, otherwise it’s your fault.
