good solar systems have batteries. just like good provinces will pay you for the power you send not just give you a credit on your bill. also split breakers aren't good idea

In most places in Canada it’s illegal to directly grid tie. If hydro is working on the lines they need to be able to shut off your solar feed or they get zapped

You need to produce a lot during the day to inject it to the grid to counteract what you will spend during the night. They buy your kilowatt cheap and sell it to you back at a much higher price.
