Growing up, the second we’d hear my dad pull up, my mom would tell us all to stop what we were doing, become silent and listen—if he was whistling it was a good day and we could go back to playing. If he was silent, we knew it was a bad day and we’d run to our rooms and lock the door and stay silent. I’m now 42 and I can read anyone/anything in 5 second flat with an eerie accuracy, can always tell when someone is lying, and I’m hyper vigalent anywhere I go. It’s a super power that amazes people. But, it’s a super power that cost me more than it’s worth 😔

I totally agree. Although I’m no longer quiet & can know exactly everything I need to within 5 minutes of meeting someone just based on their body language. It’s a curse and a strength all in one!
