Some of my hens sound like that during the heat every day, they just lay down and pant but when I come outside, they they get up to run to me. I give them a ice pool to sit in once a day 🙏🏻

Ugh this heat is brutal. So glad she is recovering. It’s been between 102-110 here all week and I’ve been so stressed about my poor girls! I have one who pants so hard I’m constantly going out and putting her feet in the cool bricks or in water because she doesn’t just do it like the others do. The misters help a ton though! They do create mud but they actually love rhe mud and the puddles lol

My girls love standing on the bricks that soak in ice water. I use the heavy duty foil tins.

hope she was ok, my gals lay out in the sun each day despite having lots of shade they fan their feathers out and soak up the sun.

also flood the ground with fresh running water for the chickens to walk around in, just like a dog or cat cooling their feet brings down their temperature.
