UPDATE: the car is ready for pick up BUT the AC no longer works. The mechanics at Kia told my dad “we already spent a lot of time on the car so we can’t afford to spend more time on it for the AC.”

The $300 diagnostic fee is ONLY supposed to be your responsibility if it ends up NOT being a warranty claim. They most definitely owe you that money back.

be careful when asking your insurance for a tow/road side assistance. they can use that against you. it happened to me.
