@ken.arrington: Christian History and should you read *the lost* books of the Bible - Why aren’t the Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox Bibles the same, and what’s up with the Apocrypha? The Bible, an anthology of religious texts, is revered in various forms by different religions. The term “Bible” comes from the Greek “biblia,” meaning “books,” reflecting its compilation of diverse texts over a thousand years by numerous authors from different cultures. Written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, it includes instructions, stories, poetry, history, apocalyptic literature, and prophetic works. Interpretations of the Bible’s divine inspiration vary widely. The Bible reflects the experiences and understandings of God by different people groups. Evangelicals often view the Bible as literal and infallible, while mainstream denominations like Presbyterian, Anglican, Catholic, and Eastern Orthodox see it as divinely inspired with more nuance. The Apocrypha, included in the 1611 King James Bible until 1885, is viewed with suspicion by conservative evangelicals. Other traditions see these works as “deuterocanonical” or second canon, useful for instruction but not authoritative. The Apocrypha and other extrabiblical books like Enoch and Jubilees, though not canonical, offer valuable insights into early Christian history and beliefs. Understanding the historical, cultural, and contextual diversity of the Bible can alleviate fears and enrich faith. Despite differences in canon, the core of Christian history and faith remains in God and Jesus Christ as the Word of God. Faith traditions may change, but God’s love is constant. -#christianhistory #kenarrington #creatorsearchinsights

Can you talk about Isaiah 30:7? I recently went to study it and noticed serious differences in what they say and their meaning. Help please!

I do believe that Enoch (at least 1) was originally considered part of the Hebrew Scriptures & was likely rejected soon after Jesus’ resurrection & the foundation of the Church.
