At best this will only prevent big sediment from getting though. It will not EFFECTIVELY filter out anything of harm such as chlorine, fluoride, hardness, taste or odor.

Minerals are what water usually have, which aren’t bad for you. And also if dirt gets into it then it bellow standard in the U.S which it rarely does. And there’s also water lines that get inspected.
