As a nursing student this is so so great! I’m so so glad that you got the education you needed about Type 1 DM/DKA ! Fruity smelling breath is a sign of DKA, and the rapid breathing is called Kussmal

these are the same signs my daughter had and why we went to the emergency in December 2023..she was 2 :( my daughter also had constipation. So crazy to hear another momma have the same. sending hugs.
