How I turned my car into a home for less than $500 *save for future reference* 3 years ago I packed up all my things, turned my car into a home and hit the road. I knew I would not be able to afford a fancy fan or crazy set up/build, so I took the resources and knowledge I had and used what I already owned to start my “van-life” journey. Here is what I bought to turn my car into a home: *everything is linked on my profile, the prices in the video are the current market prices of the products* - Cube Organizer with 8 cubes (it JUST fit the back of my car) - Cubes storage for the organizer shelves - Battery powered lights - Window covers: I made my own out of fabric and velcro- but I would no longer recommend this because the sticky side of the velcro got permanently stuck to the windows - Mattress: I used an old Ikea foam mattress and I tore it apart and cut it to fit the back of my car. I linked one in my ASF that I believe is the most comparable, and is less expensive. *Be careful when cutting open foam mattresses, as some can contain fiberglass. The one I linked in my bio does not contain fiberglass* - Portable fan for warm nights - Portable stove - Portable camping shower - Window reflector shade for windshield - Carbon Monoxide Detector (MUST HAVE) - Net ceiling storage Total: $437 ! In order to have power on the road, I used a Jackery 1000 (not included in this price or video). Everything I mentioned and more is all in my “Car camping list” in my b i o. I also added some other important items such as: Heated Blanket, Lantern, camping meals, portable sink, jumper cables, dashboard phone holder, toaster, toiletries/shower bag, and microfiber camping towels. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments or send me a dm on ig . . #vanlifediaries #vanlifer #lifeontheroad #vanconversion
