Hi, everybody. I’m at the second day of the HowTheLightGetsIn festival from @institute_of_art_and_ideas and I just came out of a really interesting discussion about posting our lives on social media and about documenting our lives on #socialmedia. And one of the points came from Freya India, who is a writer with a really interesting Substack, and she said that the bad of social media might not necessarily be in the #pictures or the #videos that we put on there, but rather in what it does to our perception of the real world. It’s how it changes our experiences of our daily lives. She said that we start to see trees and a baby’s face, or the #fireworks at New Year’s not necessarily as things to enjoy in themselves, but rather as a form of social capital. We see people as tools for likes, and we see our own lives as a form of content. It was a really thought-provoking discussion, and if you are here, I would love to see you. Thank you. Bye.
