I use to do the same thing with my horse. if a mailbox scared her then we got to live by it. I would move her food closer and even hang it out of the mailbox. garbage cans were scary too.

My parrot HATED his flight suit. He would try to chew it up every chance he got and the Velcro just wasn't strong enough to keep it on him. Luckily he only wore it during road trips
