They banned Silly Bands, which were rubber band bracelets that were shaped like cool things. But people had so many that someone cut off their circulation and went to the hospital

no cut up pants and shirts rule, probably because of the student whose clothes fell apart in the lunch room and had to wait for their parents to give them another set of clothes.

I have a vague recollection that maybe Pokemon was banned. when my sister was in school they banned pencils from the playground because someone stepped on one on purpose and it went through their foot
