Former HR director, I agree with this advice. Also throw them off and request a copy of your personnel file and a written letter with the reason for your discharge.

Ask a lot of questions, never offer any information. Don’t say things in the heat of the moment. HR is going to ask questions, often leading, to use in case you file a lawsuit. Give them nothing.
