@hyperclimbers: I've visited 40 climbing centres in my first 6 months of climbing, which I give credit to the speed I've progressed. Many centres limit grading to certain colours and types of holds and many V0-1 are just jug ladders with a big move near the top, which is stale and doesn't teach anything. BUT there are lots of amazing centres which put real effort in at the beginner end and have been a great challenge. Grading is very debatable and depends on your strengths and weaknesses, don't be put off if a V2 in one gym is a V0 in another! You'll get a feel for your rough grade area by climbing all over.
