Crank hub on the S55 has been ridiculously over exaggerated. Same applies to the Rod bearring scare in the e9x chassis.

crankhub controls the oil pump and timing chain all in one. it’s 3 pieces so when the bolt (hub) backs out it relieves the tension which keeps everything together and in sync.

If you want to remove tune you will need to get tuning license from MHD or bm3 and flash “stock stage 0” tune… I have a m240i btw

I spun my crank hub on my f82 manual with a custom e85 tune but my engine was still good just got a SSR 4 pin crank hub and I was fine definitely got lucky tho

I love yall but I work at bmw and you CAN tune the car without doing the crank hub… once you start actually pushing power these cars then you need to do the crank hub like 600+hp

Was fbo for 4 years. I promise I drove harder than Devon will and crank hub never was an issue. Just drive the car 👍🏼
