@natsnourishments: A custard recipe! As promised! I have to say I was surprised at how many people asked for this after I shared my crumble recipe, a couple posts back. I guess this is more for my American crew as I am sure most Brits don’t need this tutorial!! Also, just to say, I used some very orange eggs but the colour is usually a pale yellowish white! Ingredients: 600ml milk (soya works if you need to be dairy free) 4 eggs 1 tbsp cornstarch 2 tbsp caste sugar 1 tsp vanilla bean paste (or a pod) Method: Heat the milk and vanilla until just boiling and then remove from the heat and if using a vanilla pod, remove the pod too. Crack the eggs into a large bowl, add cornstarch and sugar and whisk until pale. Add in a ladle of the hot milk slowly, whisking the whole time. Do this until all the milk is in the bowl and then transfer the whole mix back into the pan and put it on a medium to low heat. Whisk it constantly until it thickens, should take 10-15 minutes. Store in an airtight container and enjoy hot or cold (cold is best) #custard #custardrecipe #whatiscustard #FoodTok

You know, i don’t think i ever had real custard in my 35 years! I’m a Birds girl, and my partner is Ambrosia. I assumed it would be harder to make than this but I’m inspired! 👌🏻

I usually just use the yolks because I like it richer, but this looks great

I knew custard comments were coming when I saw the peach crumble, which I made immediately. So good.

I love it all. Creme Brûlée, Creme Anglaise, Zabaglione/Sabayon, Custard, Eggnog, Sillabub, Panna Cotta (not really a custard but meh). They’re all so good and delicious in their own way

I tried this and it was going well until the end it became kinda lumpy like it was unsmooth, and it had a very strong egg taste
