@dierenkliniekdenham: ➡️ Nerve trauma in a foal: 🔸This foal was referred to our clinic with an acute and severe lameness/gait abnormality of the left front limb. Upon arrival, the foal showed an obvious "Dropped-Elbow" and was unable to bear weight. 🔸Typical causes of "Dropped-Elbow" syndrome are: Ulnar/Humeral bone fracture, muscle trauma and radial nerve paralysis. 🔸Following a profound clinical and diagnostic work-up, a radial nerve trauma was suspected. 🔸A medical and conservative therapy was initiated. A full limb cast was applied to give some additional support. 🔸Within approximately two weeks the foal was able to put some weight on the leg again.
