@myteacherface: If students fail an assessment, and there is no reflection, do they ever know where they went wrong? Do I understand where the disconnect hapoened? This was a welcome change for me as a teacher that also benefited my students and their learning 🤓
👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 And THAT’S how you successfully learn (& teach) 🥰

I had some teachers that would give tests back, allow us to redo our wrong answers, give the reason why it is the right, and if the answer is correct a 1/2 point would be given back per question.

had a teacher that that would give us a pretest and then we'd spend like 2 days going over the answers that git missed with a focus on the ones that most people missed. it's the only reason I passed

I had a couple teachers in high school that would see a few questions were bombed across the board. They would give that question back. If you got the question right, you’d receive a bonus point.

I’m like a 1 1/2… many of my quizzes have the answers in the questions. But we will throw it out and go back over to figure out where it went wrong!

I’m 50/50 on this. I try but then sometimes they just didn’t try. I like this idea though.

expectations were different 25 years ago when i started. if we did not give second chances today, very few would graduate.

I always told my students “Assessments are just information, for my teaching and your learning”. (Then they’d ask me why they had to learn the information…😂🤪)

My college A&P instructor did this. Then we’d have a class discussion on questions of most people got them wrong. She was the absolute best

I remember that we had a history test on WW2 in Highschool and nearly everyone got a D some a C or F but no As or Bs which was unusual bc at other history tests the class never went below Bs, so my1/2

I love teacher 2. when I student taught second grade, the warm-up/cool down was stating the objective. We Are Learning To (WALT) and What I Learned Today (WILT). that generally gave a clear picture.
