Now try Upper Treman and Tunghannock state parks within an hour of Watkins Glen. Just as dramatic with lots less tourists. Do they still do the light shows in the Glen at night?

Former local here: the dead of summer is touristy af. Try end of summer very early fall before they close. Oh and go further. Most ppl stop before rainbow falls which is my fave.

I live with in an hours drive...it never gets old. go in the early fall...breathtaking...drive around the lake.. the wineries...it's just beautiful countryside
