As an international I stayed 7 years in the US. I got to experience a lot there but I wished I had gone home when I finished. I missed so much with my family and when my grandad died it felt like the dream had to big of a price. Now 2 years not in the US, the adjustment is hard but seeing my grandma smile has been worth it.

Too relatable. Don't be too set on this goal tho. Just do your best and let life unfold. I was too focused on getting permanent residency, and it really hurt my mental health and marriage.

This is what I felt. I fought to stay here for 8 years and finally got my Green card last year. Pretty sure I had countless mental breakdowns and went almost broke trying to pay for visas 😗
