I do agree that we should be aware of how they do things but in my case, I couldn't validate my ticket because the turnstile didn't work.

Systems now sophisticated many countries non-paid fine same everywhere. Automatically misdemeanour converts to felony & you end up denied entry next visit. It’s simply a gamble -

So helpful! I twice got on the wrong train my first time in Italy 😭 I hadn’t done my research and wish I’d had your videos back then! Now I’m an old pro but boy I was such a noob that first trip 😅

I was issued a fine b/c I couldn't validate my ticket. I did pay it but I am outraged. There was no employee to help me.

Ethically the right thing to do would be too make it clear to people what their rules are. Clearly that’s not the case if people are being perpetually confused.

I believe some agents on the regional trains from Florence to Pisa get a “kickback” for ticketing foreigners who bought tickets but boarded the wrong train by mistake.. no help.. Heads up!!!
