@good_bad_broken_whole: It’s so easy to lose the plot when your child is having a meltdown. All you want is for them to be okay and for it to stop. But it is VITAL that you stay calm. If you can’t manage your emotions how can we teach our children to? And don’t worry, you will mess up! We’re human and sometimes we do the wrong thing. Say as little as possible because they just won’t hear you! Be their calm, their rock so that they know you are there for them and love them no matter what. Only when they are calm and regulated, talk to them about how to deal with their frustrations better next time. Teach them what to do.
