Oregano oil: one ofnature's best antibiotics! Literally like a first aid kit in a bottle, this oil can be used topically or taken internally. As always, please do your research before consuming herbal medicine, especially if you are on medication or have pre exisiting conditions. Additional Instructions To simplify things, it's a 1:1 ratio of cut-up oregano (dried or fresh) to carrier oil of choice. I prefer extra virgin olive oil. I've read that extra virgin olive oil is the best choice for oregano oil for medicinal potency, but you can use other monounsaturated fats like avocado oil, almond, or walnut oil. I honestly didn't measure this recipe, because it's something I make so often I can judge what I'm doing by experience, don't be like me lol. Now if you use fresh leaves, they can wilt and you'd want to add less oil, l've just always done 1:1 no matter if fresh or dry oregano and it's been just fine for me. Now if you do NOT speed up the infusion process by putting your Jar in hot water for 10 minutes then you will want to store your oregano oil in a dark cool place like a pantry cabinet. If you DO sit your jar in warm water, then after the 10 minutes put it in a windowsill for 2 weeks. For BOTH methods: shake jar every several days. After 2 weeks strain and store in amber colored glass bottle. Oregano oil can be stored in a dark dry place for up to several months, or in the refrigerator for up to a year. You can add a few drops of lemon oil or grapefruit oil to the extract as a natural preservative. All oils can go bad if stored improperly. If you aren't sure whether your oil has gone rancid, pour a little in a spoon and sniff it. If it has a strong, sour odor, you should toss it and make a new batch. When taking it orally, avoid getting it directly on your tongue or lips because it's spicy and may create a burning sensation. Take a sip of water, hold it in your mouth and add 1 to 3 drops of oregano oil into the water. Swallow. Follow with more water. Dilute 2 to 3 drops of 4 oregano oil in one cup of water and drink the full cup. #herbalism #herbal #herbalmedicine #oreganooil #naturalmedicine #naturalremedies #holistichealth #holistichealing #antibiotics #oregano #healthyswaps
