so to run a digital tach like that on these old trucks you need an inline "filter" that's supposed to calm down the erratic signals I think is how they put it. I tried to put this same tach in my (1)

I have 89 k3500, did a 91 cluster swap, 1991 was a one year only cluster, had needle gauges but had the Moony connector. just have to repin 4 wires. then run a wire from one pin to the coil.

Is that the 4l60 trans cause I got the 700r4 with the mechanical speedometer but the gauge cluster calls for an electric speed sensor cause I put an older 700r4 in it

I have similar issues. it seems like a dirty signal. might try a different ground and or different constant power source. there's also a decent chance that the switched on source might have some sort

ive had nothibg but issues with my glowshift gauges. i have em in my geo metro 4cyl and they just don't work well.
