Been there. I was born with my disability, I can walk but I use a wheelchair for long distances and when i use it people assume I’m also mentally disabled or even deaf and they’ll start signing to me.

I was treated the same way at the elks lodge and it sucked because I was an elk able bodied but I was treated so dismissively in a walker. It was really sad
