@amandainvests: Even small regular amounts make a huge difference when it comes to investing. Lets see how much a £20pm contribution is worth at retirement… #sipp #pension #taxrelief #investingforbeginners #CapCut
it makes you wonder why the state pension is so awful. you pay way more in than that.

This 7% isn’t accounting for much higher fees that are paid for a SIPP is it

If you can afford to do the whole £2880 for 18 years, then it could be worth nearly £1,000,000 at retirement age :)

one big assumption is trust in the government and financial system. When it hits the fan they will come for what you have.

what would be the best way to open an account for a newborn (I'd do monthly payments) and then let them have the access to it & the money to use when they turn 18?

Kista53 :
one issue is they will no longer be able to access it at 55. and by then they will probably decide to tax it.

Investments don’t get “interest” though? 7% is an ambitious growth rate for a passive investment too.

took me about 3 years to pull my finger out with my eldest and the providers just aren't used to opening these type of accounts. I use vanguard life strategy for them, all passive.
