Taxes are not up to Mykonos but up to the government . I work in a hotel so having mind that vat is 13% plus 7-10€ environment fee daily which is not included on room rate. If you tipping on the check

To top your story up yes! Royal Caribbean changed us every day $18 per person as tips, and last day gave us some envelopes for tips!!! And it’s after paying taxes and everyday $36 ‘tips’ !!!

I have never been to Mykonos but for years I have known it's ridiculously expensive. So many other islands to go to. Unless you just swipe your card without caring about the cost, don't go to Mykonos!

You should leave a tip for the cleaning lady (for not stealing your stuff) but I'd never leave a tip at the front desk at the end. The hotel would steal a good chunk of it.

Welll in California you cannot leave the restaurant if you don’t leave a 20% tip of the total amount!!! In Greece you can leave a tip of your wish any amount . That’s the difference..

Just spent 4 weeks in Greece, never spent more than 80 Euros for dinner for a family of 4 all over Greece and we ate well !! No tipping was asked.

You should’ve went to Mykonos Greece in 2016 when they had barely any tourist! And the best time to travel is at the end of September. You can get better rates in five star hotels

I’m an Aussie, our waiters get paid good money. You can tip if you want but they don’t expect it, which is nice. Our restaurants already charge us good money, tipping has gone crazy in some parts.

There are no taxes ON TOP of things in Greece. VAT is included in all prices. On the receipt you get, it just says the percentage that is included. 24% or 13%. Myconos is very expensive though.
